The Silhouette Portrait Electronic Cutting Machine is a smaller version of the Silhouette Cameo, offering the same capabilities of designing your own shapes, using your computer’s own fonts or downloading from thousands of designs from the Silhouette Online Store.

The Silhouette Portrait also has the capability to register and cut printed materials.  You can print full color images on your home printer and then cut them out with the Portrait.

The Silhouette Portrait is capable of precisely cutting a variety of materials, including paper, card, fabric, heat transfer material, transparencies,  vinyl, adhesives, and more (cut as small as ¼” and up to 8” wide x 12” long with a cutting mat or 8” wide x 10 feet long with a lined media).

To get you started, the Silhouette Portrait comes with 50 exclusive digital cutting designs and a $10 gift card to use in the Silhouette Online Store for more downloadable designs.

The main difference between the Silhouette Portrait and the Silhouette Cameo comes down to the smaller size of the machine, with the Silhouette Portrait being limited to cutting materials up to 8” wide compared to the Silhouette Cameo’s 12” wide capability.  Both machines can cope with materials up to 10 feet long (with a lined media).  In addition, the Silhouette Portrait does not have the LCD touch-screen that the Cameo has, but has control buttons under the lid instead.
