Lightweight and powerful, the Mantis 7940 4-Cycle Plus Tiller/Cultivator can till through sod and compacted soil with ease.

Weighing just 24 lbs, the Mantis 7940 is easy to handle and is perfect for gardeners of all ages.  Start up and controls are easy to use and the new soft sure-grip handles have been ergonomically designed for fatigue-free operation.

For ease of operation, controls at your fingertips include a flush-mounted throttle, a palm-controlled safety switch and an infinite speed control.

The gas-powered Mantis 7940 features a premium 4-cycle engine powered by Honda.  This 25cc commercial-grade engine is coupled with a durable power train which utilizes a precision steel cut gear system to turn the spring-steel serpentine tines at speeds up to 240 rpm for maximum tilling performance (spinning tines twice as fast as most other tillers and tills down to 10”).  Alternatively, the tines can be reversed to turn the Mantis into a cultivator, making it ideal for weeding and shallow cultivating of flowerbeds and more.

The Mantis 7940 4-Cycle Plus Tiller/Cultivator can help you to get your gardening chores done quickly and easily.  With the Mantis’ compact design and 9” width path, you can easily get into tight spaces that larger tillers can’t handle.  Use the Mantis to maintain your garden, dig planting holes, create flower/vegetable beds, bust tough sod, weed around delicate plants and more.  In fact, Mantis claim that the 7940 4-cycle tiller/cultivator can speed weed most gardens in under 20 minutes!

See what other customers who have bought the Mantis 7940 4-Cycle Plus Tiller/Cultivator have to say about it:

J.R.:
“I really like the Mantis 7940 4-Cycle Tiller.  It’s surprisingly lightweight and I would particularly recommend it for small areas.  It does seem to use quite a bit of fuel and for best results you need to pull this machine.  The blades seem a bit difficult to remove if you don’t remove them quite soon after use.”

B.H.:
“I do a lot of gardening and can’t handle a big tiller.  The Mantis 7940 is perfect for me.  It was easy to assemble, took around 1 hour.  The Honda motor is very easy to start.  After half an hour of using this tiller, the tines stopped turning.  The motor was still going but the tines wouldn’t engage.  We thought there was something wrong with it and were ready to send it back, but when we started to disassemble it, we found a rock wedged in one of the tines!  Having removed the rock, the tiller started working again.  Happy.”
