The Vitamix 5300 utilizes a 2.2 peak horsepower motor compared to the Vitamix 5200’s 2.0 motor.  Both blenders offer variable speed control with a simple to use dial that can be rotated at any point during the blend to put you in complete control.  The Vitamix 5300 has the addition of a Pulse Feature which the 5200 does not have.  The Vitamix 5200 has a switch for High Speed, which the 5300 does not have.

Both the Vitamix 5300 and 5200 come with a 64 oz capacity container for medium to large batches, but the design of the container is different for each blender.  The Vitamix 5300 features a low-profile container that is shorter and wider, while the Vitamix 5200 features a classic taller and slimmer container.  Each container is made from BPA-free Eastman Tritan Copolyester.
