Both the Weber 721001 and 731001 Smokey Mountain Cooker Smoker feature two heavy-duty plated-steel cooking grates, with the 721001’s grates being 18.5” in diameter (giving a total cooking area of 481 square inches), while the 731001’s grates are 22.5” in diameter (giving a total cooking area of 726 square inches).

Both the Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker Charcoal Smokers’ bowl and lid are constructed with porcelain-enameled steel (inside and out) for better heat retention.  Both Smokers feature a rust-resistant aluminum fuel door and legs, plus there’s a convenient heat-resistant glass-reinforced nylon handle.

For ease of use, the Weber 721001 and 731001 both feature a built-in lid thermometer that allows you to easily monitor the Smoker’s temperature.  There’s also a porcelain-enameled water pan so you can add steam to the smoking process to help keep meat moist and tender.  The individual vents on the bowl and lid are made from rust-resistant aluminum and give you total control over the smoking process.

See what other customers who have bought either the Weber 721001 or Weber 731001 Smokey Mountain Cooker Charcoal Smoker have to say about them:

S.B.:
“We bought the Weber 721001 18” Smoker and it’s still going strong after nearly 5 years.  We use it around once a month and smoke chicken, ribs and brisket with no problems.  This Smoker is easy to use and makes amazing food!  Some of our friends have more expensive smokers, but our food still tends to end up tasting better!”

M.H.:
“I’ve used the 18” Smoker but decided to get the 22” SMC.  It’s huge!  It’s so much easier to use than my old side fire box and wood!  It maintains the temperature well.  Just set up the coals correctly and let it do its job.”

L.E.:
“I love the Weber 731001 22” Smokey Mountain Cooker Charcoal Smoker.  It’s a high quality smoker that produces outstanding results.  It’s nice to be able to set the temperature and not have to constantly adjust the smoker.  I did add the gasket kit, felt it was worth it especially on the door.”
