The Coway AP-1216L’s 4-stage filtration system works as follows:

Stage 1 – Washable Pre Filter:

The washable pre-filter captures large particles like hair, fur & dust with its micro mesh.

Stage 2 – Carbon Odor Filter:

The carbon odor filter reduces smaller particles, bad odors & harmful gases.

Stage 3 – True HEPA Filter:

The true HEPA filter traps airborne allergens & contaminants up to 99.97% down to just 0.3 microns in size.

Stage 4 – Vital Ionizer:

The vital ionizer boosts cleaning power & freshens air by negative ions. This feature can be turned on or off.

In Auto Mode, the Coway AP-1216L uses particle sensing technology to monitor the quality of the indoor air and the air purifier will automatically adjust the airflow speed based on the level of pollutants in the air.
