The Snow Joe SJ623E and SJ622 are virtually the same machine with the main difference between them being that the SJ623E features a 20 watt halogen headlight for safe night-time snow clearing which the SJ622E does not have. There’s a slight difference in the overall weight of the snow throwers and, as you would expect, there’s a slight difference in overall retail price (see tables below for full features compared).

Summary
The Snow Joe SJ623E and SJ622E are powerful snow throwers that deliver the performance of a gas snow thrower but with the convenience of electric power. With their powerful motor, these snow throwers are high-performing, with the ability to tackle heavier snowfalls on mid-to-large sized driveways/walkways, whilst still being lightweight enough to handle with ease.
For the relatively little price difference, the addition of the headlight on the SJ623E is well-worth the extra price. Given the short daylight hours we tend to get through the winter, it’s definitely worth having the option of a headlight for safe snow clearing at any time of day or night.
Note on Discount:
In fact, at time of writing, the discount offered on my links for the Snow Joe SJ623E actually makes it around $4 CHEAPER than the SJ622E. So you can get the snow thrower with the headlight for LESS money than the one without the headlight - get it while the discount lasts!
N.B. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for safe use of snow thrower machines.
